The motifs, one by one

  • Cross-shaped stair and half stair compose the great panels of the body, some open and airy, others filled with bullets of deep red.
  • Rhombuses gather in small golden and teal clusters, as precise as cut stones.
  • Almonds chain, in two slanting variations, lends the borders a sense of movement, joined by the almonds and eyes chain.
  • A single almond, traced with a fine line, recurs as a quiet signature across the piece.
  • Flower, veined flower and almond-shaped fan open among the arches: the prickly pear blossom, reimagined as a Moroccan rosette.
